A charming vintage micro mosaic brooch featuring a richly detailed multicolour floral bouquet design, created from many tiny hand-set glass tesserae in the traditional Italian style.
The centre panel shows a vibrant arrangement of flowers in red, yellow, pink, white and orange tones with green foliage and dark accent centres, all carefully composed from very small mosaic pieces. Surrounding this is a segmented geometric border with decorative panels in deep blue, red and white, framed by rope-style gilt tone edging that gives the brooch a lovely sense of depth and structure.
The craftsmanship and colour variation in the tesserae give the surface wonderful texture and detail when viewed closely — a classic Grand Tour–style look and a beautiful collectible example of micro mosaic jewellery.
The reverse features a traditional pin clasp fastening.
