A rare and unusual antique Saratoga Springs, New York souvenir tray in the form of a canoe, manufactured by Kronheim & Oldenbusch (K&O Co.), a respected American metalware company active during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
This fascinating piece features an applied decorative plaque depicting the famous High Rock Spring and is marked "Saratoga Springs, N.Y." and "High Rock Spring A.D. 1767". High Rock Spring is one of Saratoga Springs‘ most historic landmarks and remains an important part of the area‘s rich heritage.
Dating to approximately 1890–1915, this charming canoe-shaped tray would originally have been purchased as a keepsake by visitors to Saratoga Springs. Today it makes a wonderful piece of Americana and an increasingly sought-after collectible for those interested in historic travel souvenirs and early American decorative arts.
